Sub: Diversion of AEEs/AEs/JEs of Construction Sections in Distribtion Circles to Cuddalore EDC along with Staff, Contract Labourers who are engaged on need basis to Cuddalore EDC to assist the restoration work being carried out in the Cyclone affected areas in Cuddalore EDC – Instruction – Issued.

In the Memo. cited, instrctions were issued to the Superintending Engineers 18 Electricity Distribution Circles to depute preferably junior-most Mazdoors in addition to the other willing volunteers, from their Circle to Cuddalore EDC to meet out the emergency work carried out in the Cyclone- affected areas for a period of 15 days.
2) All Superintending Engineers of Electricity Distribution Circles are instructed to depute the Assistant Executive Engineers and Assistant Engineers/Junior Engineers who are serving in Distribution Construction Sections in all Distribution Circles for Supervising of Restoration Works along with the Staff under their control to Cuddalore EDC till the restoration works completed.
3) In addition to the deputation of Mazdoors as instructed in the Memo. cited, the Superintending Engineers of all Electricity Distribution Circles are instructed to depute all the Contract Labourers who are engaged on need basis in their Circles to Cuddalore EDC to assist the power supply restoration work being carried out in the Cyclone attected areas till the urgent works are completed.

4) The Mazdoors and RWE staff who are deputed to Cuddalore EDC for restoration of power supply in Cyclone affected areas, will be allowed Double Wages during the deputation period and the Contract Labourers who are engaged on need basis and deputed to Cuddalore EDC from the other circles will be paid Rs.360/- per day (i.e. Rs.120X3) for the deputation period and also Rs.100/- per day for pocket expenses for the above categories.
5) Compliance of the above instructions shall be reported.

4) As per the approval of the CMD/TANGEDCO, the Superintending Engineers of 18 Distribution Cirlces were instructed to depute preferably junior most Mazdoors in addition to other willing voluntaries to Cuddalore EDC vide Memo. cited, for power supply restoration work at Cuddalore for a period of 15 days.
5) The present Man Power deplyment for the restoration of power supply works at Cuddalore is detailed below:-

6) It is seen from the damages caused Thane Cyclone, the above said amount of Man Power is inaduquate and more 6000 Nos. of Workmen are required atleast for a period up to the end of Feb.-2012 for full restoration of power supply affected by Thane Cyclone at Cuddalore.
7) Therefore, in addition to the Mazdoors already deputed to Cuddalore EDC, it is suggested that all the Superintending Engineers of Distribution Circles may be directed to depute all the Contract Labourers who are engaged on need basis in all Distribution Cirlces to Cuddalore EDC apart from the Mazdoors already deputed to meet out the power supply restoration works being carried out in the Cyclone affected areas at Cuddalore EDC, till the restoration works gets complted.
8) Further, the Assistant Executive Engineers and Assistant Engineers/Junior Engineers who are serving in Distribution Construction Sections in all Distribution Circles may also be deputed for Supervising of Restoration Works along with the Staff under their control to Cuddalore EDC till the restoration works completed.
9) It is also suggested that the Mazdoors who are deputed to Cuddalore EDC for restoration of power supply is Cyclone affected areas, may be allowed Double Wages during the deputation period and the Contract Labourers who are engaged on need basis and deputed to Cuddalore EDC from

the other circles may be paid Rs.360/- per day (i.e. Rs.120X3) for the deputation period for encouraging them for better performance and quick restoration.
